Jim Humble has been advising people for some years now to transition from using citric acid as an activator to 4% HCL. This latter is a much "cleaner" acid, and more compatible with the body's natural processes, especially those relating to digestion and the alimentary tract. HCL is what the glands of the stomach secrete to break down the food into amino acids, the basic building blocks of the human body. At 4% concentration, it is one of the dietary acids sufficiently weak so as not to cause a chemical burn, even if dropped directly onto the tongue.
Even so, this is not the way to use it. We use 4%HCL in two main ways:
- One, as a digestive aid, and especially where indigestion, reflux and heart burn are an issue. Here, we take up to 10 - 15 drops of 4%HCL in a glass of water half an hour to an hour before meals, and these issues usually resolve quickly.
- Two, we use it drop for drop to acidify ("activate") drops of MMS1 water purification drops (22.4% Sodium Chlorite), which then are used to treat and purify drinking and cooking water from potentially harmful pathogens and contaminants, including heavy metals and neurotoxins, such as chlorine and fluoride.
Elaborating on the latter, MMS activation technology has evolved over the years, from lemon and lime juice and vinegar to 10%, then 50% Citric Acid solutions, to 4% HCL (hydrochloric acid) solution. These are all dietary acids that will do the job of acidifying the MMS drops to release the immune system supporting and boosting active ingredients: Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) and Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl/HClO).
However, years of experience shows that 4%HCL is preferable to citric acid as an activator for using activated drops in a tonic. This is because 4%HCL stands the closest to gastric acid produced by the stomach to digest food, so the body is already used to it, and can make use of it as a given. This, in turn, translates into a smoother, more agreeable taste experience for most people, as well as a higher threashold before unwanted side effects (nausea and diarrhea) are triggered.
Therefore, while most people still use 50% Citric Acid for an activator, and which we still regard to be as good as anything else for air purification, bath protocols, and other external uses, we strongly recommend that 4%HCL be used to acidify drops for detoxing tonics. The choice, however, is yours.
